GRUG AND THE BUSHFIRE

Book Review

Author and artist Ted Prior thought he’d retired to his bushland property of 200 acres in Killabakh.

After selling millions of books over the years about his strange little creature GRUG who captured children’s hearts and imagination for many years, he retreated to his isolated property on the  Midnorth Coast of NSW.

But then the bushfires swept through last year and while his buildings were saved thanks to the Rural Fire Service, he was devastated at the loss of country and habitat.

It occurred to him however, that Grug with his subterranean life, would have survived. So he decided to write one more Grug book to remind us of the importance of looking after each other as well as our wilderness.  Some of the proceeds from the sale of the book will be donated to the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital.
